Yvonne Sierra is an artist and advocate for creative expression through art. Born in Connecticut to Puerto Rican parents, Yvonne spent most of her life in Puerto Rico, where she fully embraced her Latin heritage. Her journey has been shaped by her roles as a mother, caregiver, and preschool teacher assistant. At 43, she moved to Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelor of Science and Arts from Lesley University, broadening her understanding of the power of art in personal growth. Beyond her work as a painter, Yvonne co-facilitates peer support groups, guiding participants through grief work.
For Yvonne, art is more than a medium—it’s a language. "Art possesses a remarkable transformative power," she says. "It is a bridge to the innermost feelings and thoughts that are often too difficult to articulate with words." Drawing inspiration from her surroundings—whether it’s the vibrant colors of a sunset, the textures of nature, or the personal stories of others—Yvonne is continually evolving as an artist. Her mission is to create brave spaces where individuals can unlock their creativity, find their voice, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance.
